What AI Will Expose in Your AEM Cloud Setup
AI is moving fast. But AI does not fix foundational issues in AEM Cloud. It exposes them. When AI tools are layered onto environments that have grown organically over time, they tend to surface inconsistencies, not insights. For marketing teams, the question is not whether to adopt AI, but whether the foundation underneath it is ready. A few areas tend to matter most:
Structure matters more than most teams realize
AI looks for patterns. When similar content is built in different ways across a site, those patterns disappear. Over time, small variations make it harder for AI to understand what belongs together.
Tags only help when they are maintained
Most teams start with tagging in place. As content grows, that system slowly drifts. AI works with whatever information it is given. Clear, consistent tagging helps strong content surface. Inconsistent tagging makes it harder to find.
Clarity helps everyone, including your AI
If people struggle to find the right page, AI will too. Clear titles, well defined topics, and fewer competing pages make content easier to surface and trust.
AI reflects how teams actually work
AI amplifies existing workflows. If authors rely on shortcuts or workarounds, AI reinforces them. Predictable authoring patterns make AI more useful, not more confusing. We have seen organizations introduce AI powered search on top of AEM Cloud only to surface outdated or overlapping content. The solution was not more AI. It was stepping back to simplify structure and clarify how content is created and managed. AI can add real value, but only when the fundamentals are in place.
